How to craft amazing digital products.
Greg Taylor·19 January 2016·Customer Engagement
...The question I’ve been working through for the majority of my professional career is how can we consistently create amazing user experiences? Creating digital experiences has become a way of life, and I thought it was about time I penned a note about how we approach ‘software experience design’ at Tigerspike, and why it’s been so successful for our teams and clients. Before we delve into that, did you know that it takes between 100–150ms for your brain to subconsciously register information? You then spend roughly another 50ms processing that information before an event reveals itself in your consciousness.[1] Now, that is not an awful lot of time to make an impression on someone. If you then consider the brain naturally looks to change focus every 350ms, you’ve got quite a job on your hands to capture and retain people’s attention!  Read More...

Techniques for effectively implementing IT Governance Principles in an organization
Vimal Mani·19 January 2016·Delivery
...Implementation of IT Governance is being one of the key agenda items in the annual plans of most IT Leader around us today. IT Governance implementation is taken in different approaches in different organizations. For example some organizations will follow a 3 to 5 years roadmap for implementing IT Governance in their organization. To come up with such roadmaps they will undergo a detailed Strategic IT Assessment as a precursor activity. Some organizations will directly take COBIT kind of Integrated IT Governance Framework and will start implementing the principles of COBIT one by one. The biggest drawback of implementing such ready made frameworks from market is not doing a due diligence on whether COBIT needs to be implemented in full or not. Manier times organizations tend to forget to analyze is it beneficial for their IT Organizations to implement COBIT fully. Lack in having such a due diligence at first will result in wrongly focused IT Governance Implementation wasting efforts and money. Read More...

Demystifying Digital Strategy
Kunal Chakraborty·19 January 2016·Strategy & Innovation
...For months and years I have been facing questions from friends, colleagues, my B-school friends, my E-school friends and even family members (including my mom who can’t fathom what I do!) about what is Digital Strategy? There seems to be a lot of confusion in the market involving probably the two most overused (possibly abused) words of recent times — “Digital” and “Strategy”. These two words evoke very contrasting images in our minds. Strategy reminds us of B-school types with fancy MBAs, PowerPoint fetish and a dollop of pride. Digital reminds us of Shoreditch-style hipster CX designers with loafers and no socks. And believe me, they have very different takes on what is Digital Strategy. A large number of Strategy guys look down on digital strategy because it is almost as untouchable as “IT” (yes I just said the forbidden word!). In contrast, the Shoreditch crowd’s perception of Digital Strategy involves mobile apps, cool websites, service design, a bit of data analytics, social media etc. Read More...

Big Data Analytics Reference Architectures – Big Data on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter
Birendra Kumar Sahu·18 January 2016·Enabling Technologies
...Big Data is becoming a new technology focus both in science and industry, and motivate technology shift to data centric architecture and operational models. There is a vital need to define the basic information/semantic models, architecture components and operational models that together comprise a so-called Big Data Ecosystem. hbspt.cta.load(644390, '536fa098-0590-484b-9e35-a81a31e59ad8', {}); Extended Relational Reference Architecture: This is more about Relational Reference Architecture but components with pink blocks cannot handle big data challenges. Braden Kelley·18 January 2016·People & Change
...Are you and your organization ready for change? Too often organizations define the change effort they want to pursue without first identifying whether there are people, resources, legislation, etc. present that must be in place before the chage effort can begin. We will explore the circumstances you may want to explore before beginning any change effort and the areas to explore as potential prerequisites to the change program and its eventual success. During the course of any change initiative many different challenges will appear, and the most successful change efforts will anticipate those challenges and have a plan for dealing with them. 5 Steps to get people to show up to your digital transformation
Greg Taylor·12 January 2016·People & Change
...Having the words ‘digital transformation’ in the title of this post feels cliché moving into 2016. However, after years of helping companies on their transformation journey two things remain constant. Firstly, most companies still have a long way to go to realise the true benefits of digital. Hiring the Right Chief Innovation Officer
Braden Kelley·12 January 2016·Strategy & Innovation
...Every company begins as the nimble startup, organized around the solution to a single customer problem and executing that solution better than anyone else in the market (including the incumbents with deep pockets) But at some point the hunter inevitably becomes the hunted and that nimble startup as it evolves and scales, eventually becomes that more complex (but capable) incumbent. Inevitably it finds itself so focused on capturing all of the business for its existing solutions, that it finds itself at risk of missing the next evolution in customer needs. The companies that last the longest, manage to fulfill existing customer needs with well delivered solutions, and identify new customer needs they can satisfy as customer needs (or wants) continue to evolve. But many companies fail to do so quickly enough, especially in our new reality where it is easier than ever to start and scale a solution around the globe with limited resources. Read More...

Differentiating yourself using a DMP
Miles Pritchard·12 January 2016·Customer Engagement
...There was a time when having a DMP made you different. It was a differentiator in and of itself. It meant you were serious about audience and able to offer proprietary targeting options that nobody else could offer. Those days are coming to an end.
