Automation Squared Ltd is the progressive technology company that specialises in the practical application and commercialisation of Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, IoT and Progressive Web Applications.

App Development Services

We specialise in providing commercially viable applications with as low a budget as possible. Our goal is to get your application profitable as soon as it is able to, allowing early-market analysis and further development to ensure success.

Before beginning any project – we usually conduct a viability workshop with you to determine the core requirements and possible avenues of development and profit generation.

Once we both have a clear understanding of the requirements and how it’s going to take shape, we kick off with some wireframes and have something for you by the end of the initial iteration (usually a week).

Your feedback is the most valuable thing to us as it dictates the project’s direction. You decide the focus in bite-size little chunks and we’ll get to work on it! We provide demos regularly and each task requires your approval and sign off ensuring you get the most valuable parts of your application first.

As time progresses, so will the project’s needs… We’ll always advise you to stay on course and provide you with as much commercial insight as we can to help you make the best decisions.

Types of Apps

Generally speaking, there are 3 types of applications. We can help you with a decision if you’re still unsure what would be the best fit. It really depends on your requirements, target audience, application capabilities and its purpose. Speak to us today for some friendly advice.

In a nutshell, the three application possibilities are:

Native Apps

Native applications are built per platform. This usually is specifically for targeting mobile users. While going native allows the app to take advantage of all the cool hardware available through the SDKs, they are generally more expensive to maintain, and upgrade.

One other thing worth mentioning about native apps is the monetisation aspect. Engagement is immense, but app stores take about 30% from all purchase options.

Hybrid Apps

Hybrid applications are usually built with web technologies and placed within a wrapper for each native environment. This is the half-way house and is an effective solution to hitting the app stores with a single codebase.

However, specific skill is required to work with the wrappers and as a result, there is an overhead for this. The costs of this option are faily good compared with native app development.

Using hybrid technologies allows you to take advantage of the benefits of the app stores, and the maintenance and upgrades being marginally higher cost than the web applications.

Web Apps

By far the most economical and easiest to build, maintain and see results with. Web applications are a good starting point and many businesses thrive on web applications alone. These are the most easily accessible over the web and require no prior downloads.

These days, Progressive Web Apps (PWA) are slowly becoming the defacto, and more and more native-like functionality is becoming available through plugins.
